Why I Chose to Become a Rainbow Pride Celebrant
The reason I started Rainbow Pride Celebrant 10 years and 700 ceremonies ago is that I believed in equal rights for same sex couples and I believe in Gay & Lesbian Marriage. When I started Rainbow Pride Celebrant no one in Queensland or to my knowledge elsewhere in Australia had created a dedicated celebrant site for GLBT couples and their families. It was time to take GLBT Ceremonies out of the back of the civil celebrant site where they were relegated back with the minor ceremonies. Some have now followed in my footsteps which is a giant leap forward. I look forward to the day when I can legally marry a gay or lesbian couple and then register their marriage.

We went online and found Marilyn on her Rainbow Pride Celebrant Website by Google searching. She made such a good first impression at our initial meeting. Donna and I wanted someone who had experience with Commitment Ceremonies, someone who was as just as passionate about love and family for all, as we are. We found Marilyn just this. Marilyn is thoughtful, extremely helpful, warm, supportive and above all passionate. Marilyn offered us oodles of resources to help plan our Commitment Ceremony. There was more than enough just in her Commitment Resource Pack and then there were all the online resources. We have three very small children, and over our busy year Marilyn has been so understanding about the minimal contact and at times the running, jumping and screaming of three small boys that often took place during our meetings, phone calls and rehearsal. Marilyn puts such effort and thought into every little detail. She also gave great advice and suggestions for our special day. We loved our ceremony that included our 3 boys, not a thing went wrong and it was the most perfect day for us!
